The Covid-19 positivity rate in Bangladesh dropped below 5% in the last 24 hours till 8:00 am on Saturday.

The infection rate has been decreased to 4.15% during the period after testing 18,305 samples across the country.

The virus claimed eight more lives and infected 759 persons during the period, a DGHS release said this afternoon.

With the latest addition, the country’s death toll reached to 29,024 and the case tally hit 19,41,816.

Meanwhile, the mortality rate slightly declined to 1.49 per cent.

About 7,343 patients have been cured of the virus during the period with the recovery rate recorded at 92.72%.

Bangladesh reported 11 Covid-linked deaths and 1,406 fresh cases with 5.48% positivity rate on Friday.
